An Open Letter to all Republicans to drop Mitt Romney for Gary Johnson

Barack Obama vs Mitt Romney - Alien vs Predator - Gary Johnson - HustleBear.com

So, you’re a Republican? That’s your team. You would like a smaller less intrusive government that costs a lot less, right? Great! I’m with you there. That’s why you need to realize that Mitt Romney is NOT on your team, you need to vote AGAINST him and make sure you do what you can to deny Mitt Romney the presidency. Even if it means that Obama stays in office. Why?? Well let’s back up a few years.

Election Day, November 4, 2008. That day the Republican party was officially pronounced dead. Not even on life support. The party was over. Dead. It was embarrassing to say you were a Republican. Obama won in a landslide victory. Democrats increased their control of the House of Representatives and Senate, and became an unstoppable force able to ram through just about any legislation they like. And that they did. Welcome ObamaCare.

Republicans desperately needed to completely re-imagine themselves if they had any hope of continuing forward.

Election Day, November 2, 2010. Republicans swept up, taking control of local office, state office, the House of Representatives, and nearly took back the Senate, removing Democrats’ filibuster proof majority, leaving Democrats sweating it with a razor slim majority. WHAT THE HELL CHANGED?!

Principles. Principles were discovered and defended at a time when the importance of principles became obvious. These principles weren’t handed down by someone’s god, they’re principles of reality. For instance, you spent all your money? No more party. Very simple.

Tea Party March on Washington DC - Mitt Romney vs Barack Obama - Gary Johnson - HustleBear.comDespite a desperate smear campaign from much of the media, the Tea Party movement that came into prominence had nothing to do with racism towards a black president or the pocketbooks of greedy wealthy elites. The Tea Party sprung up as a mass of Libertarians and Republicans that stood up for their common principles. They hadn’t found religion. To the contrary, they abandoned religion, for the most part, at least politically. They focused solely on economics. They focused on problems of the enormous growing national debt. They focused on reducing our spending and the cost of government and thus reducing our tax burden. They focused on limiting government’s scope and involvement in our lives.

Because of those principles, even as an atheist libertarian, I was as passionate a Tea Party supporter as anyone else; happy to find common cause with any religious supporter on board with these limited government principles.

One of the greatest things that we were all excited about with the Tea Party is their credibility and their unwillingness to compromise it. They knocked out viable Republicans from office if they violated their limited government principles. Because who needs them? Right? What good are Republicans that push for costly bigger government in our lives?

Armed with principles, the Tea Party brought excitement back into the dead lifeless corpse of the Republican Party. The wave of excitement culminated into a sledgehammer of force that overwhelmingly knocked Democrats out of local office, out of State Governor positions, out of the House of Representatives, and almost even cost Democrats the Senate. Nothing could stop the principled Tea Party movement.

Memories from Freedom Fest 2012

Freedom Fest 2012 - Naomi Brockwell - Money Is Good[Photo Album at the end of article]

This is the most epic set of photos I’ve ever taken, not because they are my best shots, but because I’ve never captured so many living giants in one photo album. Just about every person in every photo in this album below has had significant impact, or clearly will have some significant impact, with many people in our culture. These are the incredibles. And I was struggling like hell to try to capture some human element from them. Which is challenging because they are often so guarded, and usually when they see some guy with a camera they tell him to fuck off. So like the bastard that I am, I made it my task to find a crack in their armor and capture that human moment. Not some awkward defensive goofball reaction, but something true and authentic.

Freedom Fest 2012 - Peter SchiffHere you go my friends, if you’re a fan of anyone in this album, you can see that the legend is a human, like you. Reach out, pull up, join them.

My First Experience at Freedom Fest 2011 (with Photos!)

Nick Gillespie and Judd WeissA Behind The Scenes Exposé of the Personalities behind the Liberty Movement

(There is A LOT here, so take your time. Each day of the conference easily warrants its own separate blog article, but I hate splitting these things up. Each person here is significant and warrants his or her own blog article, so this is actually concise. Consider this a crash course in many of the leading figures of the current liberty movement, with photos and links.)

Ayn Rand The FountainheadI’ve never been secretive about my thoughts and outlook. I’ve actively been a part of the pro-liberty movement since high school, when I first discovered Ayn Rand, the world’s most controversial philosopher. Before I got to college I read everything I could find that she ever wrote. My mind was racing then, her material got me thinking about everything in new ways. I started to train my mind to approach every situation by searching for the fundamentals. I tried to find the core of every issue, and I’d consider its philosophical implications. In time this in-depth philosophical background became so damn powerful for me. I could analyze and understand issues with more clarity. I began writing more confidently. I even began making bolder serious life and business decisions much more quickly. The world is more intelligible the better you understand its matrix.

Very few of my friends gave a shit.

Hustle Bear Award: Man of the Year 2010 – Peter Schiff

Peter Schiff - Hustle Bear: Man of the Year 2010

The best explanation for what happened to our current economy came in 2006, way before any crash, when Peter Schiff spoke at the 2006 Mortgage Bankers Convention (video at the end after the break). He explained in great detail exactly what was about to happen to our economy and why. He explained this to a group that was making money hand over fist and full of excitement over the expected further good fortunes coming to them in their future. After the speech one member of the audience stood up and asked “As a lender and a property owner… should I just slit my wrists now?”

That may have been a joke meant to mock Peter Schiff. Few wanted to hear what he had to say. Fewer would believe him. Not because what he said didn’t make sense, not because they had a deeper understanding, but because they just didn’t want to believe what he said could possibly happen. He wasn’t the only one saying the exact same thing, it’s just he was the most visible, vocal and articulate.

Peter Schiff is a very important person to listen to right now. Less of a modern Nostradamus and more of a modern Paul Revere, he has been warning us of a coming catastrophe. Warning that there was still time to correct our path. We laughed at him.

The following video is one of the most powerful videos I have ever seen:

Movie Review: Robin Hood – A Tea Party Tax Avenger?

Movie Review: Robin Hood - A Tea Party Tax Avenger?

Today I just saw the new Robin Hood movie directed by Ridley Scott. I was SURPRISED. Not just because I liked it better than I thought I would. Not because it was political, but because the message was so different from what you expect of the man who steals from the rich to give to the poor. And mostly that the message was so eloquently SPOT ON.

I never judge a movie’s quality by what it’s trying to say. I judge it by how well it says it. Avatar was an amazing movie, expressed itself powerfully, even though its message was juvenile. Not only did Robin Hood have an excellent message, but it brought it out in dramatic form so expertly.

This movie was about taxes. Yes, taxes. And it drives home the point of what taxes mean in the backstory. Showing how in 12th Century England people of the country are breaking their backs to support themselves in harsh times, only to see what they’ve produced and earned ripped from their hands by rulers demanding that everyone pay their fair share. Their fare share for the rulers’ endless wars and other endless expensive spending projects. Eventually it gets to be too much and the people organize together in mass for a tax revolt. Hmm… Tea Party?

I’m google-ing online now and finding many critics are very upset that this is not the classic steal from the rich to give to the poor Robin Hood. There’s no other such socialist undertones that imply rising higher than others is inherently wrong. No, instead there’s a demand on the King that a charter be drafted to limit his powers so that he cannot spend or tax without the consent of the governed. Robin Hood shouts to the crowd “What we ask for is Liberty. Liberty by Law!”, and makes the case to the King that a land of free people will create a stronger more prosperous England, as well as create citizens more loyal than any King enjoys.

[Check out the Trailer Below]

Yup, the movie’s message is a nearly explicit rallying cry for the Tea Party movement. And feels like an attack on both Bush and Obama.   Continue Reading >>

The Art of Smearing the Tea Baggers – Part 2

The Art of Smearing the Tea Baggers - Part 2

This is a continuation of my latest article:

“If you believe that government shouldn’t tax you and spend away your future then you must be a RACIST!!!”

Have you read it?
No? Go read it and come back.

This is eye-opening. I guess those in the Mainstream Media feel so emboldened with their power as a significant source for spreading information, that they believe they can just discredit and eliminate any movement that might be bothersome to their agenda.

I got several emails from my last article asking me to give some evidence of the media smearing the Tea Party. Ok, valid, the following is just a drop from a small splash in the wave of media smearing of the Tea Party.

First off, Guys… I have something to tell you. I just found out I’m in love. Yes, it’s true. Oh my god, this girl is AMAZING! I just found this right now. Dana Loesch held her own against Hardball’s Chris Matthews’ relentless attempts to smear the Tea Party movement, and made the argument I made in my last post better than I possibly could have on air. Behold:

There are many examples of smearing:   Continue Reading >>

If you believe government shouldn't tax you and spend away your future then you must be a RACIST!!!

Today is Tax day. Here’s my special article to celebrate.
———————–

It’s very likely that you know someone who is crushed under a huge debt he/she can’t get free of. Well that’s what happens when you spend much more than you make. You’ll have to pay for it at some point in the future. And when the future becomes due, life becomes hard. The extra financial burden and lack of new credit sucks.

Let’s say you’re in debt, but it wasn’t you who spent it. Let’s say a buddy started running your card and buying a bunch of things you don’t want for people you don’t know. He’s got an idea to help some people out, so that’s cool, right? That’s legit? But he didn’t buy a few hundred dollars worth of stuff. The dude ran your bill up to $78,000! WTF? That’s more than your yearly salary, it’ll take years to pay off. Besides, you thought your credit limit was like only $7000. Well that’s ok, your friend managed to raise your credit limit to infinity, so there’s no telling how much he’ll make you responsible for, plus compounding interest. And.. he’s.. only.. just.. getting.. started.

What!? You don’t like it? Too bad motherfucker! If you don’t like it, you’re a RACIST!!!

Now I’ve seen a lot of media smearing over the years, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much smearing as what’s being done to the Tea Party.

This is vicious.   Continue Reading >>
